Business Product Manager, Online Payments

The NETS Group is a leading payments services group, enabling digital payments for merchants, consumers and banks across the entire payments value chain. 
 

The Group operates Singapore’s national debit scheme enabling customers of DBS Bank/POSB, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and UOB to make payments using their ATM cards or mobile devices at more than 130,000 acceptance points in the country as well as online payments.

Own NETS’ Online Payments merchant acquiring business end to end, including strategy, P&L and products, working closely with sales teams to deliver the numbers.

Portfolio: Card not present (CNP) Direct Acquiring Product & eco-systems i.e. Independant Software Vendors, Payment Gateways & Payment Facilitators, eNETS, NETS Click, NETS QR Online, Inbound cross-border wallets. A senior role combining product ownership, P&L and leadership to sales team.

 

Key Responsibilities

Business & P&L

  • Own the NETS Online Payments P&L — revenue, mark-up, scheme/processing costs, opex, margin.
  • Build and run the annual and multi-year strategy plan (revenue, TPV, pricing, investment).
  • Size and prioritise merchant segments and revenue pools; set the targets.
  • Track commercial KPIs (acquisition, activation, TPV, yield, churn, mix) and act to achieve them.
  • Optimise pricing, interchange/scheme fees and margins with banks, schemes and partners.

Sales & commercial leadership

  • Translate the business plan into the sales plan and jointly own the numbers with sales team.
  • Direct the acquiring sales activities in focus segments: enterprise, vertical, NETS base cross-sell, government.
  • Steer the eco-system channels: ISV, PSP/gateway wholesale, payfac, self-serve.
  • Set coverage, quotas and incentives — reward activated TPV.
  • Lead key merchant/partner deals; leverage NETS’ base and shareholder banks (DBS, OCBC, UOB).

Product & technology

  • Own the roadmap for eNETS, NETS Click, NETS QR Online and CNP direct acquiring.
  • Run the full product lifecycle; serve all segments and verticals; lift conversion and acceptance rates.
  • Direct the platform: APIs, SDKs, hosted pages, plug-ins, routing, tokenisation, 3DS2, settlement, FX.
  • Connect partner gateways eg. Cybersource, MPGS.
  • Expand acceptance: credit cards, PayNow, NETS internet direct debit, NETS QR, cross-border wallets, BNPL.
  • Translate requirements into costable specs for Technology, Operations and Risk.

Partnerships, risk & people

  • Manage banks, schemes, ISVs, PSPs/gateways, payfacs and BNPL providers; structure payfac and orchestration deals.
  • Ensure compliance — MAS PSA, scheme rules (incl. payfac registration), PCI-DSS, AML/CFT, data protection.
  • Keep onboarding, KYC/KYB, monitoring, chargeback and dispute policies current; for payfac, run underwriting, reserves and exposure caps.
  • Lead the product team; align Sales, Tech, Ops, Finance, Legal, Risk and Marketing.

 

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • 10+ years in payments; 4+ in online/CNP product and commercial roles (acquirer, PSP, gateway, scheme or large e-commerce).
  • Degree in Business, Finance, IT or related; postgraduate qualification an advantage.
  • P&L ownership of a payments product or merchant acquiring business.
  • Direct acquiring and merchant-business background — pricing, economics, negotiation.
  • Track record directing/influencing sales teams to revenue and volume targets.
  • End-to-end online payments product management; ISV/partner and ideally payfac experience.

Skills

  • Deep CNP, gateway and direct-acquiring economics (interchange, scheme fees, MDR, margins).
  • Tokenisation, 3DS, network tokens, QR & wallets (incl. cross-border), BNPL, and the payfac model and its risks.
  • Commercial acumen — business cases, pricing, unit economics, data-driven decisions.
  • Sales leadership through direct and matrix influence; strong stakeholder management.
  • Risk and compliance literacy (MAS PSA, PCI-DSS, scheme rules, AML/CFT).
