Cloud Solution Architect

BCS is NETS’ wholly owned subsidiary, and is an entity within the NETS Group. It manages and operates clearing and payment infrastructure for the Singapore Automated Clearing House, including Fast And Secure Transfers (FAST), Inter-bank GIRO (IBG), Cheque Truncation System (CTS), and provides services for PayNow and SGQR Central Repository.

Responsibilites:

• Good knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability).
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organisation for cloud-native end-to-end architecture, including AWS and future providers, networking, provisioning and management.
• Develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns, based on the organisation application portfolio, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud
• Demonstrate leadership ability to back decisions with research and the “why” and articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation.
• Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends and technology.
• Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services.
• Proven hands-on experience in designing, deploying in AWS cloud.
• Contribute to DevSecOps development activities and complex development tasks.
• Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications.
• Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.
• Ensure delivered solutions meet technical and functional/non-functional requirements.
• Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners.
• Ensure delivered solutions are realised in time frame committed; work in conjunction with project sponsors to size and manage scope and risk.
• Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations.
• Review and approve corporate application architectural standards and processes change request representing their development organisation.
• Drive the business and technology direction and strategy.
• Identify the top cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet the strategic needs of the business.
• Provide designs for engineers on the project on how to deliver programmatic elements of the implementation. Architect cloud-native, hybrid, or multi-cloud solutions to meet client’s needs.

Requirement:

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud operations, infrastructure engineering, and automation, with at least 5 years in AWS or similar cloud operations (Azure, GCP), preferably within the payment or financial services industry
• Possess practical expertise in AWS services
• Experience in designing and developing platform components or monitoring tools in AWS or any of the cloud computing platforms

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong knowledge on AWS architecture and design, professional level certification is mandatory
• Cloud Expert with proven contributions in Amazon AWS
• Quick in understanding business direction from products/solutions/market/technology in the Cloud domain
• Ability to carry out industry trends and competitor product/solution analysis effectively
• Good expertise in programming- able to develop and demonstrate technologies in PoC
• Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends
• Experience in configuring and tuning cloud-hosted solutions and platforms
• Experience with microservices, functions, event-driven/reactive programming or other cloud-native architectures
• Good knowledge of DevSecOps tool chains and processes
• Strong communication skills and able to articulate complicated cloud reports to management team and other stakeholders
• Experience developing cloud fitment models, cloud business cases, cloud architecture and design, cloud security, cloud infrastructure, network and storage design

Professional Certifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or any professional / specialty level certification
