BCS is NETS’ wholly owned subsidiary, and is an entity within the NETS Group. It manages and operates clearing and payment infrastructure for the Singapore Automated Clearing House, including Fast And Secure Transfers (FAST), Inter-bank GIRO (IBG), Cheque Truncation System (CTS), and provides services for PayNow and SGQR Central Repository.

Position Summary

The IT Security Team at BCS ensures the security, availability and resilience of BCS systems, protecting data and mitigating emerging cyber threats in alignment with regulatory requirements.
 

The Security Engineering unit is a key function within IT Security, responsible to oversee and advance BCS’ cybersecurity defense capabilities through effective vulnerability management and robust security solution design.

 

The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of robust security solutions, and ensuring proactive identification and mitigation of vulnerabilities and threats.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage renewal of organisation’s portfolio of cybersecurity solutions
  • Support staff at security division for various forums/meetings
  • Participate in and support cybersecurity assurance activities such as VAPT, Red Teaming, Table-top Exercises
  • Manage, operate, administer, and optimise the organisation’s portfolio of cybersecurity solutions, e.g., IDS/IPS, email defenses, EPP, DLP, Vulnerability Management, PAM solutions, IAM/IGA, DAM, proxy, NGFW
  • Responsible for day-to-day cybersecurity operational activities pertaining to security solution assigned
  • Responsible for end-to-end security solution design and project implementation
  • Responsible for identifying security controls based on security-by-design methodology to ensure solutions adopt their required security posture
  • Implement, operationalise, and optimise new cybersecurity solutions as required.
  • Own and ensure the security solutions documents are up to date.
  • Assist with security incident response activities including containment and recovery when required

 

 

Requirement:

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or related fields
  • At least 5 years of experience administering cybersecurity security solutions and supporting cybersecurity operations in an On-Prem or AWS cloud environment

 

Skills and Knowledge

  • Familiarity with MAS Cyber Hygiene, Technology Risk Management Notices, MAS Technology Risk Management Guidelines, Cybersecurity Act, and Cybersecurity Code of Practice (CCoP).
  • Possess a deep understanding of AWS cloud, Software as a service (SaaS) for privileged access management (PAM) and identity security
  • Proficient in firewall rules and end point detection
  • Possess a deep understanding of various Operating Systems, e.g., Linux, Unix and Windows.
  • Experience in IT Infrastructure and project management will be an added advantage
  • Experience with programming/scripting such as Python, PowerShell will be a plus
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

 

Preferred Certifications:

  • AWS certified solution architect associate (preferred for cloud security expertise)
  • AWS certified security specialty (preferred for cloud infrastructure knowledge)
