The NETS Group is a leading payments services group, enabling digital payments for merchants, consumers and banks across the entire payments value chain. 

 

The Group operates Singapore’s national debit scheme enabling customers of DBS Bank/POSB, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and UOB to make payments using their ATM cards or mobile devices at more than 130,000 acceptance points in the country as well as online payments.

We are seeking a Data Analytics Intern to join our team and contribute to building advanced analytics capabilities that drive business strategies and operational excellence. This internship offers hands-on experience in fraud analytics, predictive modeling, and data visualization, alongside exposure to strategic planning and regulatory reporting. You will work closely with senior management and cross-functional teams to transform data into actionable insights that enhance decision-making and risk mitigation.

 

  1. Data Project:
    • Drive the firmwide data project requirements including collaborating with tech to ingest new sources of data not captured currently in the Business Intelligence layer, and streamline reporting by creating new visualizations in-line with the bottom-up driver-value maps crafted by various BUs
  1. Explore AI/ML capabilities on Snowflake:
    • Drive POC projects using Snowflex Cortex Code to explore machine learning use cases for churn prediction, forecasting, price modelling and fraud detection modelling
    • Use Snowflake Cortex Analyst/Agent on top of our data lake to develop sandbox streamlit apps that can help users interact with structured data using natural language queries.
  1.  Champion Data Visualization:
    • Design and maintain dashboards and reports that provide clear visibility into business health, fraud trends, and performance metrics using AWS Quicksight.
  1. Drive Actionable Insights:
    • Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, challenges, and opportunities across business verticals.
    • Contribute to predictive modeling initiatives such as churn prediction, pricing optimization, and fraud detection.
  1. Support Strategic Planning:
    • Assist in preparing monthly business review presentations for senior leadership, translating complex data into meaningful narratives.
  1. Regulatory Reporting:
    • Contribute to the preparation and automation of statutory return submissions

 

Reiquirements 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (2nd/3rd year preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
  • Python programming skills for data manipulation, statistical modeling, and machine learning workflows.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as AWS Quicksight, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Demonstrated interest in fraud analytics, predictive modeling, and their application in business strategy.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a creative, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity working with and developing agentic workflows is a bonus
