BCS is NETS’ wholly owned subsidiary, and is an entity within the NETS Group. It manages and operates clearing and payment infrastructure for the Singapore Automated Clearing House, including Fast And Secure Transfers (FAST), Inter-bank GIRO (IBG), Cheque Truncation System (CTS), and provides services for PayNow and SGQR Central Repository.

 

Team and Position Summary

The Technology Division at BCS is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and support of BCS applications such as FAST, Giro, CTS, PayNow, SGQR, TFR, eGIRO and its critical infrastructure, ensuring its operational stability, regulatory compliance, and service reliability.

The IT Operations department is regarded as BCS’s backbone, overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and support of IT systems and infrastructure that ensure the continuous delivery of BCS applications. This includes the management of data center operations, application monitoring and Level incident management support, ensuring the systems are always available, secure, and compliant.

The L1 Application Monitoring Officer will be responsible for the smooth running of the NOC (Network Operating Centre) and is expected to carry out the daily operations to meet business requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hourly services and system checks
  • Provide onsite support activities in external Data Centre when required
  • Conduct first level checks on all application batch logs to ensure there are no exceptional error messages
  • Actively monitor all systems’ status using the Central Monitoring System or applications log
  • Escalate and raised incident tickets when there are hardware or suspected hardware malfunctions for problem solving
  • Provide first level support for L2 on all business requirements
  • Perform all batch and operational duties, functions and tasks that are documented in the checklists
  • Perform tests that involve L1 like performing routine batch-runs, weekends system test and User Acceptance Tests (UAT)        

 

Requirements

  • Diploma in Information technology or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data centre operations
  • Good MS office skills
  • Proficiency in operating systems (Windows and Linux)
  • Must be able to work on 24/7 on rotating shifts
  • Good Interpersonal skills
  • Possess good team spirit
