Overall Function

The incumbent will be responsible for designing, implementing and supporting the organization’s ELK-based observability platform to ensure the reliability, performance and security of critical systems and applications.

 

This role requires a strong understanding of log management, data pipelines and system integrations to enable effective monitoring, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis. The incumbent will proactively identify opportunities to optimize platform stability, scalability and automation, while collaborating closely with infrastructure, DevOps, application and security teams to strengthen enterprise observability capabilities and drive continuous improvement across the NETS environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Design, implement, and maintain ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) environments.
  2. Onboard infrastructure logs (network, storage, servers) into centralized pipelines.
  3. Configure and optimize Logstash pipelines for high-volume ingestion and data normalization.
  4. Develop dashboards and alerts for infrastructure monitoring and security events.
  5. Automate onboarding and deployments using Shell/Python scripting.
  6. Integrate logging platform with ITSM tools for incident management.
  7. Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning, and health checks.
  8. Maintain documentation and operational runbooks.

 

 

Requirements

 

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or any other related IT disciplines

Experience

  1. Strong hands-on experience with ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
  2. Expertise in syslog, SNMP, and infrastructure log management for Onprem and Cloud environment.
  3. Experience designing high-throughput Logstash pipelines.
  4. Proficiency in Shell scripting and/or Python.
  5. Familiarity with ITSM integration and Git version control.
  6. Good understanding of infrastructure monitoring, security, and compliance.
  7. Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience.

Competencies

  1. Familiarity with object storage solutions such as Amazon S3 for log archiving and long-term data retention.
  2. Understanding of storage performance considerations and capacity planning for Elasticsearch indices and log data.
  3. Familiarity with Kafka, Logstash, and Kibana for data ingestion and visualization.
  4. Solid knowledge of hardware, operating systems, and system services performance tuning.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a creative mindset.
  6. Strong communication skills in written and spoken English.
  7. Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence stakeholders.
  8. Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
