The NETS Group is a leading payments services group, enabling digital payments for merchants, consumers and banks across the entire payments value chain.
The Group operates Singapore’s national debit scheme enabling customers of DBS Bank/POSB, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and UOB to make payments using their ATM cards or mobile devices at more than 130,000 acceptance points in the country as well as online payments.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Head of Governance and Fraud, this role is 1.5 line of defense responsible for driving a strong risk and compliance culture across the division. The successful candidate will ensure alignment with external regulatory requirements and internal risk frameworks, while overseeing all risk, compliance, and audit activities within the NETS business.This position works closely with NETS stakeholders across the three lines of defense to ensure operational integrity and compliance excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to promote awareness and adherence to regulatory requirements, risk frameworks, and internal policies across NETS business team within the division.
- Act as the subject matter expert for operations-related risk and compliance matters.
- Conduct independent reviews of operational processes to identify key risks, evaluate mitigating controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with NETS business team to drive completion of risk and compliance activities such as:
> Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
> Operational Risk Event (ORE) managemento Key Risk Indicators (KRI) reviews and reporting
> Business Continuity Plan (BCP) reviews and testing
- Work closely with NETS business team to manage MAS regulatory queries, ensuring timely follow-up, coordinated responses, and closure of all regulatory matters.
- Coordinate division-wide preparations for internal and external audits and inspections.
- Train and upskill NETS business team on risk and compliance topics.
- Engage effectively with stakeholders including Business, Risk and Compliance, and Internal Audit to support ongoing governance efforts
Requirements
- University degree in a relevant discipline
- Professional certifications in risk or controls (e.g., FRM, CRMA, CIA) are advantageous
- Minimum 3 years of experience in audit, assurance, or operational risk
- Experience in a financial institution is an added advantage
- Strong working knowledge of risk management principles and the three lines of defense model
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
