IT Enablement Engineer

BCS is NETS’ wholly owned subsidiary, and is an entity within the NETS Group. It manages and operates clearing and payment infrastructure for the Singapore Automated Clearing House, including Fast And Secure Transfers (FAST), Inter-bank GIRO (IBG), Cheque Truncation System (CTS), and provides services for PayNow and SGQR Central Repository.

Team and Position Summary

The Technology Division at BCS is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and support of BCS applications such as FAST, Giro, CTS, PayNow, SGQR, TFR, eGIRO and its critical infrastructure, ensuring its operational stability, regulatory compliance, and service reliability.

The IT Operations department is regarded as BCS’s backbone, overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and support of IT systems and infrastructure that ensure the continuous delivery of BCS applications. This includes the management of data center operations, application monitoring and Level incident management support, ensuring the systems are always available, secure, and compliant.

The IT Enablement Technical Engineer is a hands-on technical role that works with multiple IT operations tools to support both business and operational needs. The role focuses on enabling productivity through technology and ensuring smooth adoption of IT solutions. The incumbent will configure and manage IT Operation systems, integrate tools, and collaborate with business and operations teams to deliver their requirements, including building dashboards for reporting and insights.

Key Responsibilities 

• Design and develop interactive, intuitive dashboards using BI and data visualisation tools, aligned with both business and operational needs. Transform key metrics—such as governance, risk, finance, and operations—into clear, actionable visuals that drive informed decision-making.
• Perform data engineering activities including data analysis, data modelling (hierarchies and relationships), ETL development, and data validation. Integrate data from multiple sources and build, maintain, and optimize ETL pipelines within AWS environments.
• Automate operational processes such as  data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and reconciliation using scripting or programming languages (Python or Java) to improve efficiency and stability.
• Design, develop and enhance DevSecOps pipelines to support secure and efficient software delivery.
• Provide technical support for applications and tools managed by the IT Enablement team, including incident and problem troubleshooting, resolution and performance optimisation.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to provide regular status updates and ensure timely delivery of agreed outcomes.
• Document processes, configurations, knowledgebases and best practices.

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience across SDLC using Waterfall & Agile methodologies including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing and deployment.

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong understanding of ITIL processes and IT Operations.
• Proven experience with Power BI for data visualisation and data modelling.
• Hands-on experience in data wrangling, modelling, cleaning, transformation, and integration.
• Experience with system or tool integration for data extraction.
• Wokring knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC and CloudWatch.
• Familiarity with programming, scripting and REST API.
• Experience with DevSecOps tools, CI/CD pipeline design, development and automation.
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure (servers, networks, storage) and application technology stacks.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Good analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage tight timelines, prioritise effectively and deliver committed schedules
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
