Position Summary

 

•             The incumbent will be expected to provide SME support to the Lead, INFSVC to assist with the IT infrastructure Middleware strategies and manage Middleware-related issues which directly or indirectly impact business performance. This includes the evaluation, conceptualisation, development, implementation, maintenance and support of IT infrastructure systems.

•             The incumbent is responsible for the achievement of short-term operational targets of the INFSVC division.

•             The incumbent has a fair degree of autonomy in determining the work processes in its job area and is required to review the existing work processes in its work area and recommend ways to make small improvements.

•             The incumbent may also guide junior level staff on the accomplishment of tasks within a defined job area.

Key Responsibilities

 

 

  • The Middleware SME supports and documents the installation, configuration, capacity planning, upgrading, problem resolution and debugging of all middleware product environments.
  • Collaborate on definition of infrastructure standards and contribute to the overall architecture roadmap.
  • Collaborate on technical design and provides consulting including identification and documentation of requirements and design.
  • Coordinates environment configuration activities to ensure integration and alignment with other IT technology, processes, systems, applications, and environments.
  • Collaborates in the installation, configuration and upgrading of enterprise application software, customizing soft tables and program parameters and managing associated environments.
  • Document middleware platforms and related infrastructure as directed with respect to functionality, maintenance and administration.
  • Install and configure server operating systems, enterprise software and middleware services, including settings, directories, storage, in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
  • Recommend and lead improvements to provide the highest level of availability and performance
  • Provides technical support and guidance (level 3) to end-users, and other IT resources
  • Follows policies and procedures to ensure corporate compliance, examples include corporate data security and change control

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Experience in maintaining web portals to automate administration tasks.
  • Experienced in Linux/Solaris platform and shell scripting.
  • Should be able to troubleshoot and support middleware in Linux & Solaris OS.
  • Act as technical escalation point for Middleware L3 SME Support.
  • Familiar with CI/CD toolsets like Bitbucket, Jenkins and release process
  • Knowledge in DevOps and SRE concepts.
  • Familiar with Incident and change management process. Participate in designing middleware interfacing of new development projects
