The NETS Group is a leading payments services group, enabling digital payments for merchants, consumers and banks across the entire payments value chain. 
 

The Group operates Singapore’s national debit scheme enabling customers of DBS Bank/POSB, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and UOB to make payments using their ATM cards or mobile devices at more than 130,000 acceptance points in the country as well as online payments.

Position Summary

The position of Intern is project-based where he/she will support the development of data-driven insights to enhance business strategies and operations.

The primary focus will be to assist the Data Analytics team in the cloud migration project and will involve the creation and refactoring of multiple dashboards. In addition, he/she will also be involved in initiatives supporting the strategic planning function, preparing monthly business review presentations with senior management, generating actionable insights and campaign ideas for our key stakeholder teams, and assisting with preparation of regulatory reports.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Champion Data Visualization: Create dashboards and reports to provide clear visibility and quick insight into business health and performance. The major focus would be on porting over dashboards from Tableau to AWS Quicksight.
  2. Drive Actionable Insights: Analyze the data to interpret patterns, pin-point challenges, and help craft solutions to drive key performance metrics of various business verticals.
  3. Prepare and Present Decks to Business Leaders: Assist with collating insights and translating data into human language to empower business leaders to make data-driven decisions and execute better.
  4. Regulatory Reporting: Assist in preparing and automating various statutory returns and regulatory report submissions.

Requirements

  • We are looking for students in the 2nd/3rd year university in relevant courses of study such as data science, statistics, computer science, or related fields.
  • Highly skilled in SQL (as the candidate will need to write several SQL queries on the fly for the cloud migration project).
  • Prior experience working with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, AWS Quicksight, QlikView or equivalent
  • Demonstrated keen interest in data analytics and its application in business strategies.
  • Strong presentation and engagement skills with the ability to develop and cultivate relationships with a variety of business stakeholders.
  • Strong conceptual, critical thinking, and analytical skills - demonstrating outside-the-box problem-solving abilities.
  • Independent self-starter who can work well with minimal supervision and ability to learn fast (as the candidate will be expected to pick up AWS Quicksight on the job and play a pivotal role in the migration).
  • Good project management/coordination skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple conflicting priorities.
