Java Application Tester

The NETS Group is a leading payments services group, enabling digital payments for merchants, consumers and banks across the entire payments value chain. 
 

The Group operates Singapore’s national debit scheme enabling customers of DBS Bank/POSB, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and UOB to make payments using their ATM cards or mobile devices at more than 130,000 acceptance points in the country as well as online payments.

Position Overview

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Java Application Tester to test backend applications.

The Java Application Tester will be a member of the Grow & Transform Unit in NETS and will report to the Tech Lead. The candidate will work as part of a team that is responsible for executing test cases to ensure the quality and functionality of the backend software applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing and hands-on experience with testing frameworks, and familiarity with POS transaction flow will be a definite advantage.

He/She will be responsible for ensuring quality software delivered and support documentation required as part of testing and implementation. 

Key Responsibilities

• Able to follow and execute pre-defined test cases.
• Maintain and execute automated test scripts.
• Perform manual testing where automation is not feasible.
• Collaborate with developers and business analysts to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
• Develop quality documentation to accurately represent application testing.
• Identify, record, and track testing finding, report the finding to QA lead and developer.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of test progress, results, and defects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.  
• A proactive team player who thrives in a dynamic & fast paced environment, able to work in a team or individual with little supervision.
• Good communication skills and able to present information effectively.
• Basic experience with software testing and quality assurance would be advantageous.
• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter), payment systems and the automation framework is an advantage.
• 2+ years of experience in software testing or QA.
