The NETS Group is a leading payments services group, enabling digital payments for merchants, consumers and banks across the entire payments value chain. 
 

The Group operates Singapore’s national debit scheme enabling customers of DBS Bank/POSB, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and UOB to make payments using their ATM cards or mobile devices at more than 130,000 acceptance points in the country as well as online payments.

 

Position Summary

The Lead Engineer will be a member of the Technology unit in NETS and will primarily be working with the Platform Lead. He will be jointly responsible for the IT Infrastructure-Network & Operations function in NETS which includes Data Center infrastructure (servers, storage, facilities, networking & appliances), Network Engineering, Cloud Platform management, DevOps and Database Administration. 

 

We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to manage and optimize our IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems (RHEL, Windows, VMware ESXi), managing VMware environments, and providing Level 3 support. The role involves developing automation scripts (Ansible, Bash, Python, PowerShell), handling physical server hardware, and administering HCL BigFix.

 

The engineer will also design and maintain systems across various environments, manage backups and storage, troubleshoot issues, and ensure policy compliance. Experience with Windows, Active Directory, monitoring tools, middleware platforms, and AWS cloud management is required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Management of IT Infrastructure servers including Installation, Configuring, hardening and patching of the operating systems(e.g. RHEL, Windows, Vmware ESXi)
  • Manage VMware environments, including the creation, configuration, and maintenance of virtual machines and related infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide Level 3 support for complex technical issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents promptly.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop and implement automation scripts using Bash, Python, Power Shell , Ansible to streamline system administration tasks and deployments.
  • Hardware Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical server hardware, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
  • Proficient in HCL BigFix Administration including deployment, configuration, and maintenance
  • Involved in setting up and configuring new systems, installing and maintaining the application software and coordinating with relevant teams
  • Updated with the current knowledge in Linux system and are responsible for evaluating the hardware and software technologies
  • Build and support customizations to enhance the efficiency of existing systems
  • Involved in designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining the computer systems for its test, development and production environment.
  • Backup Management: Monitor daily backup operations, ensure job completion and troubleshooting failures
  • Perform backup restores and validate data recovery
  • Storage Management: Perform Zoning, LUN provisioning, and capacity planning
  • Monitor performance and health of SAN systems and fabric switches
  • Strong analyzing skill troubleshooting issues that hamper the performance of the system
  • Identify the discrepancies in the system, to assess the risks, and to implement solutions by adhering to the security standards
  • Monitoring and overseeing the System health, Daily backups, Anti-virus solution, etc. 
  • Hands on experience with Windows, Active Directory, Monitoring (Zabbix, Solarwinds), Silverfort MFA is preferred
  • Familiarity with middleware platforms such as Red Hat JBCS, Jboss EAP, Apache Tomcat
  • Candidates are required to support audits on a plan routine basis
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance.
  • Ensure that stakeholders comply with the organization’s policies and procedures while to find innovative ways to optimize systems efficiency and increase productivity through automation of tasks.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Proficient in cloud Management & Operations - AWS

 

Technical Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology 
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure Engineer role supporting critical system
  • Experienced in developing Infrastructure Automation Engineer using Ansible and shell scripting.
  • Proficiency in HCL BigFix, Zabbix, VMware ESXi
  • Familiarity with Storage Protocols (FC, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS)
  • Level 3 technical knowledge in RHEL, Microsoft Windows, VMware and Active Directory with Red Hat certification & AWS cloud certification is an added advantage
  • Strong hands-on experience with Enterprise Storage systems (Hitachi VSP)
  • Strong hands-on experience with backup tools such as Veeam, Veritas Netbackup, Huawei Ocean Protect
  • Understanding of Networking and Security principles
  • Familiarity with Public/Private cloud environment (AWS)
  • Technical skills with experience in fast pace, large, complex environments.
  • Candidates with financial institution experience is an added advantage
  • Knowledge in scripting languages such as PowerShell & Python have added advantage.
