The NETS Group is a leading payments services group, enabling digital payments for merchants, consumers and banks across the entire payments value chain. 
 

The Group operates Singapore’s national debit scheme enabling customers of DBS Bank/POSB, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and UOB to make payments using their ATM cards or mobile devices at more than 130,000 acceptance points in the country as well as online payments.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Lead the design, development, and deployment of end-to-end solutions across Java/Spring-based platforms and HP NonStop systems, leveraging technologies such as TAL, TACL, and related NonStop utilities,ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
2.Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to gather, analyze, and refine business requirements, ensuring clear traceability, feasibility, and alignment with organizational and regulatory objectives.
3.Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services across distributed and HP NonStop environments, ensuring seamless integration between open systems (Java) and legacy platforms (TAL-based applications).
4.Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across both Java-based and HP NonStop systems, ensuring high availability, system resilience, and optimal performance.
5.Provide technical support to Level 2 teams for production incidents, including investigation within NonStop (TACL logs, process diagnostics) and Java environments, ensuring timely resolution, root cause analysis, and recovery actions.
6.Conduct code reviews across Java and TAL applications, enforce coding standards, perform unit testing, and ensure adherence to development best practices throughout the SDLC.
7.Provide technical guidance to team members across both modern and legacy stacks, promoting capability development in Java frameworks and HP NonStop technologies and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
8.Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and support release management processes across distributed platforms and NonStop environments (e.g., Pathway, Enscribe-based deployments where applicable).
9.Partner with business analysts and support teams to produce and maintain comprehensive documentation, covering application design, TAL/Java interface specifications, and system workflows before and after implementation.
10.Maintain and update knowledge bases, including NonStop operational procedures, TACL scripts, and Java system documentation, ensuring operational readiness and continuity.
11.Adhere to structured change management processes, ensuring controlled deployment of enhancements, patches, and releases across HP NonStop and distributed environments, with proper validation and rollback strategies.

Skills & Knowledge  

1.Demonstrate deep expertise in both relational and non-relational databases, including SQL, MySQL, Oracle DB, and MariaDB, with strong capabilities in data modeling, performance tuning, and query optimization across distributed and HP NonStop (SQL/MP, SQL/MX, Enscribe) environments.
2.Possess strong understanding of message-driven and API-based architectures, including asynchronous communication patterns, enterprise integration strategies, and best practices across open systems and NonStop platforms.
3.Maintain familiarity with relevant ISO standards related to software quality, security, and financial/payment systems, ensuring alignment with regulatory and audit requirements.
4.Proficient in commonly used data exchange formats such as XML, JSON, and YAML, supporting interoperability across heterogeneous systems.
5.Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, resilient, and maintainable technical solutions across both modern and legacy platforms.
6.Hands-on experience with Git, Bitbucket, or equivalent version control systems, including effective use of branching strategies, code reviews, and collaborative development practices.
7.Working knowledge of code quality and security scanning tools, including SonarQube, Fortify, and similar static analysis platforms, ensuring adherence to secure coding standards.
8.Experience with microservices or serverless architectures in cloud environments (preferably AWS), enabling scalable and resilient system design.
9.Strong understanding of security principles, including encryption, hashing, secure key management, and secure communication protocols across distributed systems.
10.Working knowledge of HP NonStop technologies, including exposure to TAL programming, TACL scripting, Pathway, and NonStop system utilities, with an understanding of operational processes such as logging, monitoring, and batch processing.
11.Strong collaboration skills with the ability to engage effectively with cross-functional teams, including business, operations, and technical stakeholders.
12.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.
13.Strong interpersonal abilities with effective time management and prioritization skills to operate efficiently in dynamic and high-pressure environments.
14.Solid hands-on experience across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including unit testing, integration testing, and CI/CD-driven delivery practices, ensuring quality and reliability of software releases.

Education and Experience:
 
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
At least 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Java and HP Nonstop Development
Strong proficiency in Java 8, 17 or higher, and related frameworks (e.g. Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Integration) for backend development.
Hands-on with AWS would be an added advantage.
