The NETS Group is a leading payments services group, enabling digital payments for merchants, consumers and banks across the entire payments value chain.
The Group operates Singapore’s national debit scheme enabling customers of DBS Bank/POSB, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and UOB to make payments using their ATM cards or mobile devices at more than 130,000 acceptance points in the country as well as online payments.
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Subject Matter Expert (SME) with Project Management experience to lead the transition of our data center network architecture from a 3-tier to a spine and leaf architecture. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with CISCO network devices and a proven track record of managing complex network projects. Additionally, the candidate will oversee the refresh of our firewall and load balancer systems, as well as the optimization of our telco leased lines.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Design:
• Develop and implement the new spine and leaf network architecture, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.
Technical Leadership:
• Act as the technical point of contact for all network-related aspects of the project.
• Provide expertise in network architecture, design, and implementation, with a focus on data center infrastructure, firewalls, and core switch technologies.
• Coordinate with network engineers to ensure best practices are followed during installation, configuration, and testing of new equipment.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
• Work closely with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure timely delivery and adherence to contractual obligations.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of project objectives and resolve any concerns.
Project Management:
• Lead end-to-end project management for data center migrations, firewall refresh, and core switch migrations, ensuring the projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder communication strategies.
• Manage cross-functional teams, including network engineers, vendors, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration.
Risk and Issue Management:
• Proactively identify project risks and issues, develop mitigation plans, and escalate issues when necessary.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts in case of network downtime or technical failures during the project execution.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, timelines, and meeting notes.
• Provide regular status updates to senior management and stakeholders on project progress, milestones, and any challenges.
• Ensure all project deliverables are properly documented and handed over upon completion.
Requirements
- Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in network architecture and project management, with a focus on CISCO network devices.
- Relevant certification in CCNP/ CCNA is required.
- Certification in CCIE, PMP, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of spine and leaf architecture and CISCO network devices is required.
- Strong understanding of firewall and load balancer technologies.
- Experience with telco leased line optimization.
- Strong project management skills, including experience with project management tools and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
