The Group operates Singapore’s national debit scheme enabling customers of DBS Bank/POSB, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and UOB to make payments using their ATM cards or mobile devices at more than 130,000 acceptance points in the country as well as online payments.

 

Team and Position Summary

The Security Engineer plays a critical role in helping to design, implement and maintain various security tools that together form a layered defence against cyber threats.
The ideal candidate will work closely with security operations, IT, and risk teams to deploy and optimize security tools, develop policies, and improve detection and response capabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform periodic health checks on deployed security tools to ensure optimal performance; coordinate with internal teams and vendors to remediate identified issues.
  • Monitor and manage service request and incident tickets, ensuring resolution within defined SLA timelines.
  • Monitor the shared security mailbox, respond to stakeholder requests promptly, and coordinate with relevant domain SMEs for closure.
  • Collaborate with security technology SMEs to develop, update, and maintain operational documentation and Knowledge Operating Procedures (KOPs).
  • Work closely with SMEs to support the implementation, administration, and maintenance of security tools, including but not limited to: SIEM, XDR, Vulnerability Management, DLP, PAM, IAM, WAF, IDS/IPS
  • Generate operational and management reports from security tools and enhance them to meet business requirements using scripting languages such as Shell or Python.
  • Track and manage the security tool inventory, including Vulnerability exposure, End-of-Life (EOL) and End-of-Support-Life (EOSL) status and proactively engage stakeholders to ensure timely remediation.
  • Support BAU changes across security tools by following established ITSM processes, including change, incident, and problem management.
  • Deliver assigned tasks as per agreed plans by collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders across security, IT, and infrastructure teams

 

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or a related field
    • 1+ year of hands-on experience managing or supporting security technologies
    • At least 1 year of experience working with native cloud security services of AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP
    • Strong understanding of information security fundamental, networking concepts, unix/linux environments
    • Hands-on experience with shell scripting; python knowledge is a strong advantage
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex technical issues with guidance when needed
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a strong “get-things-done” mindset
    • Good communication and coordination skills to work with multiple stakeholders and SMEs
    • Relevant vendor or cloud security certifications
