The NETS Group is a leading payments services group, enabling digital payments for merchants, consumers and banks across the entire payments value chain. 
 

The Group operates Singapore’s national debit scheme enabling customers of DBS Bank/POSB, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and UOB to make payments using their ATM cards or mobile devices at more than 130,000 acceptance points in the country as well as online payments.

 

Position Summary 

 

This role is responsible for leading the General Ledger and Accounts Payable teams and will be the technical in-house advisor on all accounting matters.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Accounts payable and General Ledger functions, including Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Reporting and Compliance.
  • Month-end close activities including review of journals entries, general ledger reconciliation, consolidation and monthly fluctuation analysis in accordance with the close calendar
  • Ensure smooth operations of Accounts payable function that vendors and consumers are paid promptly
  • Cash management and treasury to ensure sufficiency of funds and maximization of returns
  • Work with Compliance team to ensure compliance with relevant MAS regulations and regulatory reporting deadlines
  • Ensure returns for corporate income tax, GST and withholding tax are filed on time and all relevant regulations are complied with
  • Manage the internal and statutory audit to ensure timely completion and issues appropriately resolved
  • Develop and enhance Finance policies and procedures for business relevancy and efficiency
  • Participate and provide functional support in the roll out of new projects
  • Manage and drive a high performing team, including to grow and develop their capabilities
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives
  • Any other ad-hoc projects assigned from time to time

 

Job Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant, with an Accountancy Degree or ACCA
  • Minimum 10-12 years of relevant working experience, with at least 5 years leading a sizable team and 3 years as an auditor in a reputable accounting firm
  • Strong communication skills, an analytical mind-set and problem solving capabilities
  • Ability to excel in a fast paced and dynamic environment, with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Experienced working with Senior Management
  • Strong knowledge of FRS, tax and transfer pricing
  • Experience working with SAP will be advantageous
