Junior Software Tester

Position Summary 

The Junior Software Tester will be responsible for the development of system test cases and execution of the Quality Assurance/Systems Integration Testing. He/She will be working with the Senior Software Tester/Test Lead to devise test objectives, test strategies and test cases as well as perform quality testing of project delivery and enhancements prior to implementation or release to production system.

Key Responsibilities 

• Prepare and update the traceability matrix to ensure completeness of test coverage
• Prepare test cases based on the test plan and identify test coverage to ensure completeness of the test coverage
• Perform test execution according to the requirements specified and ensure that all test incidents are properly logged
• Track and ensure proper closure of issues identified during testing
• Ensure that test results are properly captured, documented and reviews are conducted for all test documents
• Coordinate and provide support to internal and external parties during the various testing stages
• Provide regular updates to the reporting manager on the status of testing activities, assignments and matters arising
• Document, implement, monitor, and enforce all processes for testing as per standards defined by the Company
• Assist in the preparation of project documentation
• Assist in the preparation of training materials and conduct training to internal and external parties 

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related fields
• Minimum of 1 year’s related working experience, preferably in IT and financial industry

Skills and Knowledge

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Testing/Defect Management tools
• Proficient in construction of test cases, test execution and test reporting
• Basic database understanding and query skills
• Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to generate standard testing deliverables
• Demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to make quick and sound decisions
• Team player
