Team and Position Summary

 

The Merchant Assessment Office will be tasked with the following functions:

  • Perform merchant assessment, KYC reviews, ongoing goods and services verification, and merchant due diligence activities. 
  • Ensure merchant requests, compliance reviews and operational issues are resolved within agreed SLAs. 
  • Support continuous process improvement, data analysis and regulatory compliance initiatives. 
  • Provide support to internal and external stakeholders and work closely with Singapore teams on assigned activities. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

  • Conduct first-level KYC and merchant due diligence for new applications and sales leads in line with NETS policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage merchants via calls and emails to obtain information and documents required for AML, compliance and operational reviews.
  • Monitor merchant profiles, business activity alerts and ownership changes from external sources.
  • Review dashboard outliers, transaction anomalies, dormant accounts, volume spikes and high-risk merchant alerts.
  • Escalate issues and coordinate review or remediation actions with Data Analytics, Operations, Sales, Risk & Compliance and Governance teams.

 

Requirements

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Minimum SPM, STPM, Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in merchant operations, AML/KYC, compliance, customer service or related operational functions.
  • Exposure to KYC, customer due diligence, transaction monitoring or merchant risk assessment processes is advantageous.

 

Skills and Knowledge

 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, analytics or automation tools is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is advantageous.
