Software Senior Tester

NETS Solutions is NETS’ wholly owned subsidiary. It develops payment infrastructure and transaction processing solutions for central banks, banks and clearing houses in Singapore and the region.

Position Summary

The Senior Software Tester is a member of the Delivery & Support Group in Network For Electronic Transfers (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. and will report to the Test Manager in charge of the division. He/She will be working with the business and technical units to devise the test objectives, test strategies and test cases as well as perform Quality Testing of project delivery and enhancements prior to implementation or release to production system.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Test Manager / Test Lead to develop the test strategy, test objective and test plan
• Understanding the user requirements and functionalities associated with related applications under testing
• Gather, analyze and document user requirements
• Prepare and update traceability matrix to ensure completeness of test coverage
• Understanding the system through available documentation and existing applications
• Prepare / update test cases based on the test plan and identified test coverage to ensure completeness of the test coverage
• Prepare the test setup
• Deploy the build in the required setup
• Perform test execution according to the requirements specifications and ensure that all test incidents are properly logged
• Track and ensure proper closure of issues identified during testing
• Ensure that test results are properly captured and documented, and reviews are conducted for all test documents
• Attend Regular client calls
• Discuss doubts/queries with Development Team / Client
• Coordinate and provide support to internal and external parties during the various testing stages
• Manage incident reported by users; Analyze user reported incidents and provide appropriate response or follow-up actions with the technical teams
• Provide regular updates to reporting manager on status of testing activities, assignments and matters arising
• Document, implement, monitor, and enforce all processes for testing as per standards defined by the organization
• Assist in preparation of User Manuals and project documentation
• Assist in preparation of training materials & conduct training to internal & external parties
• Conduct internal trainings on various products

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science/ Engineering or equivalent education 
• Minimum 3 years of related working experience, preferably in IT and financial industry.
• Good understanding and experience in Software Test Life Cycle (STLC) is necessary
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Testing and Defect Management tools
• Basic database understanding and query skills
• Experience in requirements gathering and analysis will be an added advantage
• Functional testing experience in banking domain will be an added advantage
• Proficient in construction of test plan, test cases, test execution and test reporting
• Must have good understanding of test methodology
• Experience in test automation is an added advantage
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to generate standard testing deliverables
• Must be comfortable in conducting presentations and trainings
• Demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as capable of making quick and sound decisions
• Good team player
• Providing mentorship to team members and reviews on test deliverables (e.g. test cases, test result, etc.)
• Estimating, prioritizing, planning, coordinating testing activities
