Cloud System Administrator

BCS is NETS’ wholly owned subsidiary, and is an entity within the NETS Group. It manages and operates clearing and payment infrastructure for the Singapore Automated Clearing House, including Fast And Secure Transfers (FAST), Inter-bank GIRO (IBG), Cheque Truncation System (CTS), and provides services for PayNow and SGQR Central Repository.

Position Summary:-
The Infrastructure Cloud System Engineer will provide technical support to BCS services running on Cloud. The incumbent will be responsible for the uptime and readiness of the components that are operating on the cloud and will look at automation initiatives to reduce mundane IT operations and administrative work to improve efficiency and consistency. The ideal candidate will also work closely with developers and application team to streamline the deployment process, automation, enhance CI/CD pipelines and maintain security compliance.

Key Responsibilities:-
The incumbent will be part of the Cloud Operations Team supporting all BCS Services running on Cloud. The incumbent will also need to work with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to assess applications, software and hardware (HSM).  

 
The other key responsibilities are as below: 
•    A crucial role in maintaining and optimizing cloud computing systems, responsible for monitoring and supporting Cloud and Hybrid Cloud infrastructure.
•    Maintain SLA for the services offered by BCS to the industry.
•    Develop, coordinate, and administer AWS & ServiceNow infrastructure. 
•    Manage code deployments and environment sizing changes to controlled environments in a controlled, auditable manner.
•    Automate deployments and infrastructure as code (Terraform). 
•    Use containerization, (Kubernetes, Docker) troubleshooting and support tasks. 
•    Proficient in supporting backend cloud infra pertaining to Operating Systems such as appliances, Unix, and Microsoft 
•    Maintain, manage, and monitor Cloud Infrastructure and resolve IT infrastructure issues with collaboration of other supporting teams.
•    Analyses causes of incidents and provide recommendations in order to minimise probability of recurrence and contribute to service improvement.
•    Proactive in supporting project implementation. 
•    Create high-quality technical documentations. 
•    Provide after office hours support where required (24/7 On Standby).
•    On-board new Cloud technologies, challenge existing implementation in a professional and constructive manner 
•    Engage in Cloud security activities and comply with ITSM/ITIL methodologies for day-today operations of the IT Infrastructure.
•    Respond to general questions and trouble tickets in a timely manner.
•    Check on security protocols and processes in place and IT governance.
•    Support internal and external audit requirements. Audit controls such as identity management, logical security, change management, backup and recovery, incident management and information security.
•    Manage user access matrix for all cloud infra systems (Identity Management: - permission set, Security Groups, Role Management, MFA).
•    Document and close ITSM tickets according to agreed procedures.
•    Analyse how customers use the cloud system and collaborate with internal departments.
•    Manage AWS notification and perform maintenance, renewal, Upgrade, patching etc on AWS services (RDS, ECS, Direct Connect, EC2,ECR, etc), certificate, keys, EKS, market place purchased items, etc.
•    Performing AWS infra DR drill.

Requirements:-
The prospective candidate should exhibit the following attributes and requirements: 
 •    Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in AWS operations and support  
•   AWS Certification – Solution Architect Associate or SysOps Administrator Associate is a must.

• AWS Certification – Solution Architect Professional and Advanced Networking Specialty is an added advantage.

•    Work on mission-critical systems with a high throughput.
•    Certificate management.
•    Experience of software release management and infrastructure support
•    Security understanding.
•    Good knowledge of AWS and ServiceNow monitoring tools.
•    Investigate causes of incidents and seek resolution, escalating as appropriate.
•    Hands-on, detailed and a team player exemplifying the “can-do” attitude. 
•    Experience in Infrastructure engineering and automation  
•    Good knowledge and experience of computer networking such as WAN, LAN, Network zoning, routing, network resiliency, load-balancing, firewall, VPNs, etc. 
•    Basic knowledge of AWS RDS  
•    Good knowledge of application technology stack and application containerization 
•    Good knowledge and experience with Python and/or YAML.
•    Own the successful deployment of cloud-based projects.
•    Ability to communicate in a straightforward and structured way to influence and connect with others, in both written and verbal communication.
•    Work closely with application users to diagnose and resolve issues with cloud-hosted applications or systems.
•    Experience in basic administration of MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, MongoDB and/or ElasticSearch.
•    Work from office all working days, recommended
